As the name implies, this section of the site deals with all the online presence of Zora Neale Hurston in general and the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God in particular.

*In our search on the web for all things Zora, we noticed one missing thing: No rating system. Who knows where you are going in cyberspace when looking for all things Zora? Therefore, we have adopted a radical new way of rating such sites. The rating system used is the ever-so-scientific method of Zora Heads (tm). For those interested, here's the breakdown:

The site isn't worth going to.
Zora would call it a "MULE!"

Not worth sticking around for an average
of 30 seconds. Don't expect to see God there.

This is "Tea Cake- a- licious".

Zora would be proud to have her name attached to this site.

Now, on to the sites!

Kip's Site:

This site is by far the most extensive and productive link on the web (outside of ours of course.) Kip seems to have a personal connection with Zora and it shows. Great content and originality in design. We give it:

Kingwood College Librarians

Extensive site. They cover all the necessary bases in order to bring you the best possible site on Zora and her novel. If you need any research on the book, this is one of the nicest places to start. We give it:

Gallaher's Page

This site has some links, but is bland in terms of layout and what it offers. It covers a lot of her works, but not very in depth. It has a nice breakdown of Rita Hook's essay "Conjured into Being". It's worth a look. We award:

Cheryl's Page

The best thing going for this site is the links section (over 15). There is a biography and other relevant material, but not much else. We give this site:

Jake's Page

This page may not offer a whole lot in terms of research or commentary, but it offers gossip! Not only that, but sound bites of Zora herself reading from the first chapter. We award it:

Laurie's Page

This page is both thourough and well-written. It is primarily based on Women Writers of Color, but Zora has her own spot on the page. It also has an extensive bibliography and comment area. It earns:

Ohio University

This was a read along of sorts of Their Eyes Were Watching God. It has some discussion moderated by teachers, as well as a WEALTH of comments by readers from all over. Just on trying this, we give it:

See What the Teachers Know

While this site may not be the most research oriented, you can learn "on-line" in a k-12 mode. It's an interesting idea that can only get better. We give it:
