Dr. Oellerich has been a faculty member in the Department of Social Work since September 1970. He served as Chair of the department from 1978 to 1994. Dr. Oellerich received his MSW from Adelphi University in 1963 and his doctorate in 1975 from the School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University. He came to teaching with more than four years postmasters direct service and administrative practice experience in the fields of child welfare, mental health and mental retardation, and family services. He is a Certified Social Worker in New York; a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio; a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, National Association of Social Workers; a Certified Diplomate in the American Psychotherapy Association. He is past President of the Ohio College Association of Social Work Educators. He is a member of the Academy of Family Mediators and the Ohio Mediation Association. He practice in the area of divorce mediation.Since his retirement in 1999, Dr. Oellerich teaches a course on social work practice and a Tier III course. He is enjoying his retirement with travel and camping adventures.
