GEOG 353/553 Environmental Planning Students Participate in Public Planning	Students of the GEOG 353/553 Environmental Planning class participated in the Athens Bike and Pedestrian Master Planning public workshop held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the City Building. Students not only witnessed the process of citizen participation in public planning, but also contributed their ideas and shared their perspective with the rest of the community. Amanda Perry, a senior, sums up her experience,"I learned that even the 'little' people with no established power in a community can at least be heard at such a meeting. I plan to attend more of these meetings now that I know how it all works.
Majors Fair	This event is held during September to inform students about the majors available in the department.
Geofest 2009	Geofest 2009, the Department of Geography awards and honors celebration held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens was enjoyed by students, faculty, staff, guests, and parents.
